The Suicidal Cat

When I first saw this cat on the street, I felt she was so desperate that she decided to end her life. Who knows? After raising the prices of everything including milk, bread and meat life might have become so hard for this skimpy mangy one-eyed creature. I can imagine how hard it could be to find anything edible in the trash these days. This poor thing looked as if she haven't taken a bath in ages! One hell of a mood she must be in...

Ola,

Ome thing we need to learn how to do is to Thank God for the blessings we have before it goes away.

As far back as I can remember in the days when 1KG of excellent tomatoes went for around 0.11 JDs people were complaining about prices.

I live in a place where 1 KG of good tomatoes goes for around 5JDs.

You really dont want to know what everything else goes for.

The point is, be thankful!

Jordan is in a much much better place than ALL of the surrounding countries.

Yasmine: That was my final conclusion too!

Sari: Don't get me wrong, I love Jordan and I'm not thinking of leaving it to any other country, but let's face it, life is gettign so tough here, maybe not for everyone, I admit that for me I'm living like a queen since my salary is very well above the average and I have no responsibilitis other than myself, but for those who support families, it's tough I'm telling you. You might live in a country where tomatoes cost too much, but let's not forget that the salaries and standards of living are much higher. I'm sure you know that, because if it wasn't so, why would you be living there instead of your homeland?

And oh, I agree with you that we should be thankful to God for all the blessings, a part of that is standing up to those who try to turn those blessings into unaffordable forbidden fruit...

I'm glad you didn't leave this as an open ended dialog and you asked a specific question.

The only thing that is a higher standard of living here is cars. We pay twice as much for cars in Jordan.

Other than that, standards in Jordan are much higher and quality is much better than anything you will find in these parts.

To answer your question. My being here has no more to do with the location of the job than your job does.

Meaning, I was unemployed and looking for a job, and was offered one here. That is it. And at the time it was the best offer I could get.

If I get a similar offer in Jordan, that is where I will be.

And by the way, I have friends in Jordan who are getting just as much if not more salary than I am here (after adjusting to cost of living).

I don't know about that, everyone I know in the Gulf say that life there is much easier, salaries are higher, but maybe this is not the case for everyone... And I'm sure some goods are much cheaper there than Jordan!

I admit that my situation in Jordan was very good, and that in my industry, salaries at Jordan are very good. Which may have contributed to my less than enthusiastic response to the way things are here.

However, the statements I made, I can validate with numbers, knowing that when I came here, I was paid three times as much as my friends in the same industry.

She is not suicidal, deaf nor blind. She was just having a nap. She spent her last night looking for something to eat in the garbage and the streets. As you know it's getting harder for cats because nowadays we have people who look for food in the garbage so you can say that cats now have to look more and more hence walk more and more. so she found something to eat and did eat it she just wanted to go home and cross the street, but there was a car on the other side, so she had to wait for the car to pass but at that moment, that particular moment she slept. She closed her eyes and accidentally slept for a while just like anyone of us might sleep while driving after a long long night. rayeq ana
